Braunwald Course “Biosystems Engineering - Bioreactors and Cell Factories”

The course is uniquely combining modelling and simulation of bioprocesses and biological systems. Held between majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps, it conveys expert knowledge to participants from academia and industry. Small group size, hands-on modelling exercises and continuous updates on newest research trends provide an excellent, personal learning environment.

This year, we are proud to present two most distinguished researchers from from academia and industry as invited speakers. Prof. Uwe Sauer (ETH Zurich, Switzerland) is a leading expert in microbial systems biology and uses cutting edge technologies to unravel novel biology towards biotechnology applications. Prof. Roel Bovenberg (DSM, The Netherlands) leads various microbial cell factory programs for more sustainable production of enzymes, biochemicals and natural products, such as antibiotics.

In 2020, the course will be held for the 40th time and we will celebrate this exciting anniversary together with our participants in a unique gala dinner.
